Lauren Winkler, Esq.

Lauren A. Winkler is a Senior Staff Attorney at the Southern Poverty Law Center based in New Orleans, Louisiana. She began her legal career in legal aid, where she developed a strong commitment to using the law as a tool for meaningful change. For the past ten years, Lauren has focused on impact litigation in education, working on cases aimed at improving access, equity, and accountability in school systems. Her work combines big‑picture strategy with day‑to‑day problem solving, and she is known for collaborating closely with colleagues and communities to turn complex legal issues into real‑world results.
